Zoo Pretend Adventure

Take your child on a visit to the zoo without ever leaving your living room. First, on your own, find zoo animals features in books or on the Internet. (Many zoos have websites that feature interesting facts and pictures of animals in their care.) Then, together, make a list of animals your toddler would like to see on an imaginary visit to the zoo. Using the books or Internet as a guide, visit the animal areas one by one and talk about each animal with your child. How told is an adult giraffe? How big is a hippo? What is the difference between a monkey and an ape? Your kid will love hearing these neat facts about wildlife and the pretend visit will make them much more informed an excited to visit the zoo for real!
