Materials:* foam paper (preferred for durability), construction paper or plain white paper
* hold puncher (or scissors)
* stapler or tape
* crepe paper
* materials for decorating (markers, foam shapes, glitter glue, stickers, odds and ends)
* yarn or string
Have your child decorate one side of the thin foam sheet using markers, glitter glue, stickers, etc. With adult help, shapes can be cut from the foam and then glued on as accent pieces. Once finished, roll the foam sheet lengthwise into a cylinder and staple it to hold its shape. Staple or tape strips of crepe paper on one end. Punch four holes at equal distances apart near the top edge, tie a piece of yarn to each end, and join and pieces of yarn in the middle with a knot. (This will serve as the handle.) Toddlers may like to run around outside with the wind sock to watch the tailes soar, and then find a place to hang it where they can watch it move in the wind.
