Create a family time capsule for the year. A cylindrical snack canister works well. Have each member of the family write down or state goals for the coming year and successes (and even regrets) from the previous year. Young toddlers may need help to recall events or milestones, but may be particularly proud of learning to swim or regretful of falling off the monkey bars and getting hurt, for example. Throughout the year tuck in notes of special achievements or highlights. On the next New Year's Day open and review the time capsule together. Tuck in any additional summaries from the year and be sure to include a photograph or tow of everyone. Close it up and then begin a new time capsule for the new year. These will become treasured keepsakes!Picture from: http://www.nestlefamily.com
