Bean Plant Sprout

This is a simple project for young children to experience the sprouting of a plant from a seed! You can use a lima bean or something similar, such as a corn kernel. Use dirt or potting soil in a small paper cup to plant it. Every young child enjoys watering a plant (use a tablespoon or something similar that won't result in accidental overwatering) and watch the plant sprout and grown with water and sunlight. Older toddlers who show interest may also find growing a simple tomato plant fascinating, especially when they get to eat the delicious end result.
